Number 3 Montessori Sand Tray Practice

Number 3 Sand Tray Practice

Sunshine struggled with making twos last week, but I thought I'd give the sand tray numbers one more try as three is definitely easier to write than two.  We'll see how she does.  The sand is pink to correspond with the number three bead bar.

Sunshine has thoroughly enjoyed her continent activities the past few weeks.  I decided to have her paint instead of using play dough this time around.

A laminated pink South America card is provided as a control.  Sunshine will use the paint brush and pink paint to paint  her own continent using the outline provided.  She's already seen the laminated continent card and is super excited.

Transfer of Water Using a Sponge

Sunshine will place the pink sponge in the bowl of water.  The sponge will absorb water.  She will then pick it up, transfer the sponge to the other bowl, and squeeze out the water. Sunshine will continue to do this until all the water has been transferred from the original bowl.

Arranging Pink Flowers

Arranging Pink Flowers

Sunshine has been dying for a chance to use flowers in her learning time activities like her older siblings have done lately.

I just love these pink flowers and thought they'd go perfect with our unit.  She will arrange them in the vase provided.
