Types of Reptiles Sorting Cards

Types of Reptiles Sorting Activity

At times we can forget that reptiles just aren't snakes a lizards. They include many creatures which are fascinating to look at and learn about.

This activity teaches the various types of reptiles. It includes nomenclature cards, description cards, and sorting cards. Due to Dinomite's passion for reptiles, I've included all of these resources in one activity, which he loved!

Reptiles: Predator & Prey Match Up

Reptiles: Predator & Prey Match Up

This activity provides a great opportunity to learn more about the food chain in regards to reptiles. The cards are created in pairs. One is the predator. One is the prey. Each card has a number on it as an extra control for matching pairs up correctly. The kids found it fascinating to learn which reptiles eat other reptiles.

Reptile Who Am I? Cards

Reptile Who Am I? Cards

Who Am I? cards are very popular with our kids. When completing this activity, the kids read one clue at a time to see if they could guess the correct reptile.

The clues are written in order of hardest to easiest, so that by the end of the activity, if all clues are needed, there's a great chance that the child will guess the correct answer.

Snake Family Sort

Snake Families Sort

Dinomite's favorite reptiles are snakes. He LOVES them! It only made sense to follow his lead and create an activity specific to one of his passions.

In this activity, children learn about the snake family. There are nomenclature and description cards that describe each snake within the family. Then, for those who want to learn even more, there are sorting cards for each kind of snake.

Dinomite loved this activity, as did my other children. There is so much to learn about snakes!

Benefits of Reptiles Picture & Description Cards

FREE Montessori-inspired Benefits of Reptiles Picture & Description Cards

For many, reptiles can be frightening. We often think about the negative aspects of reptiles, forgetting that they are very beneficial to have around.

This activity describes twelve reptiles that are not only harmless to humans, but are very beneficial to have around.

Our kids enjoyed using the picture and description cards in memory games, but also as "Who Am I?" challenges.
